Vain Garfield, The Lurker

Jon's eyes sagged, red, and glazed over, staring far past the screen as he browsed the subreddit. It had been hours since his last fix. He grew desperate for Garfield's approval.

"There! Yes..." Garfield moaned, a smile cracking wide across his face. Finally, a depiction worthy of his true form. Garfield's vanity was fed once more, releasing pulses of euphoria through his veins and into Jon. Addicted to the ecstasy, Jon sunk deeper into his seat, mind numb and fingers trembling. It was an ineffable high they again experienced together.

Appeased, for now, Garfield leaned in close and blissfully sighed, "Upvote, Jon."

I illustrated this in 2019 during the rise of /r/imsorryjon on reddit. Definitely one of my favorite concepts and lore write-ups. It's an older style I used to draw in, very much inspired by Junji Ito. I don't do this style much these days, but it still does hold a special place in my heart.
